Three ways to take a lesson
Lesson length and format are the first things that set tuition. Your teacher will suggest the right one.
Private lessons
One student with one teacher each week, for 30, 45 or 60 minutes. Beginners usually start with 30.
30, 45 or 60 minutes
Weekdays and Saturday
Shared lessons
Two students of a similar level on the same instrument share a lesson of 45 or 60 minutes. A good fit for two friends from the same band.

Saturday sectionals
Students on the same family of instruments practice together for an hour with two teachers, in groups of up to 8.

Not made up when missed
How tuition works
What sets tuition, how it is billed, and the costs that are extra. Your teacher goes over the figures with you at the placement visit.
Three things set tuition: the length of the lesson, whether it is private or shared, and whether your student adds Saturday sectionals. Your teacher suggests a length at the placement visit, and the figures are on our enrollment page.

Registration
A yearly registration covers your student's file, the placement visit and scheduling with a teacher. It is due when you register, once for each school year, and the figure is on the enrollment page.
Billing
Tuition is billed monthly for the school term, and autopay is available. A monthly plan covers the whole term: it is not pay-as-you-go.
Help with tuition
Ask us whether financial aid is open this month. You can ask at any time, and we talk it over in private.
Two students in a family
A family with two students can ask for lessons back to back, so one trip covers both. We set the times with you at the placement visit.
Withdrawing
We ask for a month's notice before a student leaves, and the end of a term is the easiest time. Tell us in writing, by email or through the contact form.
Missed classes and make-ups
A lesson missed with a day's notice can be made up with the same teacher in the same term, when a time is open. A lesson we cancel is always made up. Saturday sectionals are not made up.
Uniforms, costumes and other costs
Three costs are extra: instrument rental by the school year, the music books your teacher chooses, and any recital costs, which we explain beforehand. Each has its own line on the enrollment page. Ask your teacher before you rent or buy.
